Not much to report

Not a whole lot new going on. Christmas and the holidays kinda put the tank on the backburner. Did add new corals and will post pics later. Have battle with my Ca and Alk levels which look to be under control now. Had to remove my autofeeder as it was adding too much phosphate to the water.

We have decided to put the house on the market and move into something with a little more room. Not looking forward to moving this tank. Perhaps someone will buy it with the house.....

Over the last week or so, I have added a bit more livestock:

Also picked a couple of Monti frags, an anemone and a few fish (Niger Trigger, 6-line Wrasse and 6 Blue Chromis)

Also, played around with my digital camera a bit and am finally learning to take decent pics.

pH Update

Well, my pH problems are not solved...yet. I suspect a deficiency in Mg as my Ca and Alk continue to plummit after a couple of days. Ordered a test kit. While that is on its way, I will be on the search for some MAG flake.

pH Problem Solved (or is it?)

Thank God for simple solutions. I decided to feed my calcium reactor into the return section of the sump to allow it to mix with the turbulent water. Wouldn't you know it, after a couple of days the pH shot back up to 8.2.

pH problems

I am currently experiencing issues with pH. Current levels are 7.9 at night and 8.05 during the day. Although not detrimental to the system, they are too low for comfort. I suspect the problem is due to closing up the house for winter.

Unfortunately, I can't run the Kalk reactor harder to counter this as it is topping off more than the evaporation and lowering my salinity. What to do...
